Description
STAFFORDSHIRE.
A scalloped ceramic plate printed with the coat of arms of the constitutional monarchy of 1791–1792. The coat of arms of France framed by two winged genii holding Phrygian caps and surmounting the inscription ‘The Constitution or Death’. Two speech bubbles bearing the inscriptions ‘Live free or die’ and ‘The Nation, the Law and the King’.
Circa 1792.
Good condition.
