Jean BERTHOLLE (1909–1996) for the GIEN Manufactory RAMBOUILLET MODEL SERVICE SET, in glazed earthenware with a polychrome enamel hunting scene. Comprising: Four dinner plates, one large oval dish Manufacturer’s mark on the reverse and various monograms. (minor chips) This famous model was created in 1955 by Jean Bertholle in response to a request from the President of the Republic, Mr René Coty, who at the time wished to acquire new pieces to set the tables in the prestigious residences hosting presidential hunts.
