Charles Émile Jacque (Paris, 23 May 1813 – 7 May 1894), French painter and engraver of the Barbizon School. Charles Jacque is renowned as an etcher and played a part in the revival of this technique in the 19th century. He began his career as an engraver in 1836. After producing a number of reproductions based on the Dutch masters, Jacque turned his hand to original engravings at a very early stage.
