Heavy Cavalry Officer’s Sabre, Model 1822. Handle covered in shagreen, with filigree. Chiselled, gilded brass mountings. Short-tailed pommel. Four-pronged crossguard. Underside of the crossguard stamped ‘Manceaux à Paris’. Curved blade, with a flat back, hollow edges and a fuller, engraved, gilded and half-blued, featuring a motif of leaves and military insignia, and marked on one side ‘Coulaux Frères’ and on the other ‘Manufre du Klingenthal’.
