This amusingly illustrated planisphere map shows the various transport milestones in history. From Christopher Columbus on his ship to hot-air balloons, biplanes and airships. An amusing note at bottom right instructs "Messrs Aeronauts not to use this map to take stock". Luc-Marie Bayle was a naval officer and painter. He decorated, among other things, the Grand Planisphère of the Compagnie des Messageries Maritimes, as well as several ships including Le France and the aircraft carriers Clemenceau and Foch.
