Description
Tourism - Constant Duval (1877-1956) - Paris Orléans Railway. Amboise, Circuits Automobiles, Les Châteaux de la Loire. 1930. Imprimeur Champenois, Paris. 99x62,7cm. Original poster, lithograph, canvas-backed. Condition A- small traces of marginal tearing. Constant Duval's works are veritable paintings, not only because of the many colour passages on the stone, but also because of his great talent. It is interesting to note that from 1925 onwards, the train was associated with automobile tours to develop tourism in Indre et Loire. Of the two versions of posters created for Amboise by the artist, this one is the rarest and most beautiful, with the Loire in the background, resembling an inland sea.
