Description
Tourism - Emmanuel Paul Champseix (1890-1983) - The Silver Coast, Hossegor, P. O. Midi. 1937. 99x63cm. Printed by Serre, Paris. Original poster, lithograph, canvas covered. Condition A-, marginal folds.
Hossegor, a famous seaside resort in the Landes region of the Basque Country, enjoys a worldwide reputation as a surfing destination, and not without good reason. A deep underwater chasm, known as the Gouf de Capbreton, lies off the coast. At the time, surfing didn't yet exist, so the natural charm of these pine forests falling into the turquoise sea is easily accessible by train.
