Born in Plougastel-Daoulas (Finistère) on 18 March 1917 and died in Paris on 1 April 1980, Hervé Morvan was a French artist specialising in illustration and poster design. He trained at the École supérieure des arts appliqués Duperré in Paris, where he gained a master's degree in mural art, frescoes and stained glass. He opted for advertising illustration as a career choice. He has designed over 150 film posters, as well as visuals for Gévéor wine, Gitanes cigarettes, Kelton watches and album covers for the Bordas sound collection (Corneille, Racine, Molière, Homère, Musset). He has also designed promotional posters for numerous artists, including Léo Ferré. He has two album covers to his credit, including La Chanson du mal-aimé (1957).
