Lot no. 340
Description
Tourism - Anonymous (XX) - SNCF, Snow with schuss with the train. 1981. 60x40cm. Printed by Duchaussoy. Original poster, offset, canvas covered. Condition A. The skier is equipped with a CC6500 locomotive in place of skis. Initially, Paul Arzens, the designer of the CC6500s, had given them a metallic grey, Capitole red and orange colour specially chosen to match the Grand Confort carriages for which they were intended. These trains were part of the French TEEs that represented the top of the SNCF range at the time. Arzens referred to this decoration as the "coup de soleil livery". From the 1970s onwards, the CC 6500s represented the apogee of French single-current locomotives and were the most efficient of their time. These locomotives represent the most powerful models in a vast line, later known as the Nez cassés. Versions of these locomotives were supplied to France and internationally between 1964 and 1999.
