Description
Commemorative medal for the 1870-1871 war. Patinated bronze medal awarded to participants in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. On the right, a profile of the helmeted Republic facing left, signed Daniel-Dupuis, with a circular legend. On the reverse, an allegorical composition featuring a flag and military attributes, inscribed "Défense Nationale - 1870-1871". Later or remounted ribbon with green and black vertical stripes. Mounted with an attachment system on the reverse. Good condition, even patina, wear from use, ribbon replaced.
