Description
Medal for war wounded. Commemorative medal instituted to reward servicemen wounded in action. Gilt metal badge consisting of a five-pointed star enamelled red, resting on a radiant background and a wreath of foliage, symbolising sacrifice and blood shed for the Fatherland. Moiré silk ribbon with vertical stripes of blue, white, yellow and red. Smooth reverse with traces of manufacture. Period: 20th century. Good condition, enamel well preserved, slight wear to the ribbon.
