Description
VERDUN commemorative medal (1916) with "VERDUN" bar. A commemorative medal in patinated bronze relating to the Battle of Verdun (1916). On the right, a helmeted soldier (Adrian type) in profile, with the inscription "VERDUN 1916". On the reverse, the inscription "AUX GLORIEUX DÉFENSEURS DE VERDUN" (TO THE GLORIOUS DEFENDERS OF VERDUN) in a frame decorated with plant motifs.
Moiré silk ribbon, predominantly red with blue-white-blue edging, embellished with a metal "VERDUN" bar. Pin mount on reverse. Good overall condition, good bronze patina, slightly worn ribbon with traces of mounting, coherent and well preserved. Period: 20th century.
