Description
Colonial medal with clasp "TUNISIA 1942-1943" Colonial medal in patinated bronze, awarded for services in France's overseas campaigns. On the right, a helmeted effigy of the French Republic facing left, with the legend "République Française". On the reverse, a globe surrounded by military trophies with the inscription "Médaille Coloniale". A moiré silk ribbon, predominantly yellow and green (very faded and discoloured), decorated with a metal clasp reading "TUNISIE 1942-43", relating to Second World War operations in North Africa. Mounted on a foliate hoop. Marked wear, ribbon very worn and torn, medal with old patina and traces of wear, coherent whole. Period: 20th century (Second World War).
