Description
Commemorative medal for the 1939-1945 war, clasp "AFRICA". A bronze medal with a brown patina, hexagonal in shape, awarded to military personnel who took part in operations during the Second World War. Obverse: Gallic cockerel with outstretched wings in front of a Lorraine cross, resting on a broken chain. Reverse: inscription "République Française - Guerre 1939-1945" with stylised branch. Light blue moiré silk ribbon with green and red piping, decorated with central red chevrons. There is a metal "AFRICA" clasp, corresponding to the campaigns in Africa (1940-1943). Condition: good overall condition, medal well preserved, ribbon showing slight wear and fringing.
