Description
Croix de guerre 1939-1945 with five commendations and a palm leaf. Bronze four-point war cross with crossed swords, suspended from its original red ribbon with green stripes. The obverse features the profile of the helmeted Republic, captioned "République Française". The reverse bears the date "1939". Ribbon decorated with several awards: 1 bronze palm (commendation in the Army Order). 5 stars (probably 3 bronze and 2 silver, corresponding to commendations in the order of the regiment, brigade or division). There is a bronze branch on the ribbon (possible decorative element or later addition, to be noted).
