Legion of Honour - Third Republic (1870 MODEL) - Knight. Knight of the Legion of Honour badge, Third Republic model (from 1870). Five-pointed double star enamelled white, the points ending in balls, set on a wreath of oak and laurel enamelled green. In the centre, a medallion bearing the effigy of the Republic, surrounded by the legend "République Française - 1870". On the reverse, the inscription "Honneur et Patrie" with enamelled tricolour flags. Hanging from a wreath of foliage. Set in silver-plated metal with polychrome enamel. Good overall condition, enamel well preserved with slight wear to tips, ribbon in good condition, old patina. Accompanied by its certificate of attribution.
