Description
Levant commemorative medal, with clasp "LEVANT 1925-26". Gilt bronze medal awarded to servicemen who took part in French operations in the Levant (Syria and Lebanon). Obverse: helmeted head of the Republic facing left. Reverse: symbolic scene with flag, palms and weapons, evoking the Levante campaigns. Hanging laurel wreath. Moiré silk ribbon with horizontal green, white and yellow stripes. There is a "LEVANT 1925-26" staple, corresponding to the operations to suppress the Syrian insurrection. Good overall condition, good patina, ribbon shows traces of wear and creases.
