Description
Lebanon Commemorative Medal. Gilt bronze medal awarded to soldiers who took part in French operations in Lebanon and Syria (French mandate). Obverse: symbolic composition with a cedar of Lebanon framed by two crossed sabres, with the inscriptions "République Française" and "Pour le Liban" ("For Lebanon"). Reverse: landscape with rising sun and mountainous relief, dated "1926". Hanging by a ring. Blue moiré ribbon with thin vertical red and white stripes. Good overall condition, medal has a fine patina, ribbon shows wear and minor snags, old mounting.
