Description
Jambiya type dagger, typical of the Middle East (Yemen or Arabian Peninsula), with a strongly curved, double-edged steel blade with a marked midrib. It is fitted with a handle made of dark material (horn or hardwood) in the typical flared shape, attached by two metal rivets with embossed decoration. The dagger is preserved in its moulded brown leather sheath, richly decorated with fine parallel striations, with visible stitching, in a characteristic "J" shape. Typical of traditional oriental production, used for both utility and pomp. Good condition. The 22.5cm blade shows some traces of oxidation and micro-scratches. Handle in good condition. Scabbard with wear and patina. 20th century.
