Short Kabyle flissa, Algeria, 20th century. A short white Kabyle flissa weapon with a narrow, straight, sharply tapered blade of flat cross-section with a median ridge. The cylindrical handle is entirely sheathed in rolled black leather, with no visible guard. Presented with its matching tubular leather scabbard. Sober, utilitarian design, typical of late Kabyle production. Blade length: 34 cm. In used condition. Blade with traces of oxidation and patina. Wear and drying of the leather.
