Description
Moroccan sabre known as a Nimcha, 19th century. Sabre with curved steel blade, of good length (78 cm), with flat section embellished with longitudinal grooves (flutes) and showing traces of engraved decoration on the base. Composite frame comprising a European-style, multi-branched iron guard forming a developed hand guard. Characteristically shaped wooden handle, reminiscent of certain North African or Mediterranean products. Probably composite, combining elements of oriental and European inspiration, typical of 19th century production or reassembly. In used condition. Blade with old patina, traces of oxidation and wear. Mount with minor deformations. Worn handle.
