Description
Saharan dagger, Tuareg work, 20th century. Dagger with curved steel blade, 29 cm long (total length 62 cm), decorated with a hallmark on one side. The characteristic frame comprises a turned and carved wooden handle with geometric decoration, ending in a tapered pommel. The set is accompanied by its red-tinted leather scabbard, richly decorated with traditional geometric motifs in relief, typical of Tuareg production in the Sahara. North African or Sahel craftsmanship (probably Tuareg region: Mauritania, Niger or Mali), 20th century. Good condition. Traces of use. Patina on leather and blade. Normal wear.
