Description
Flintlock rifle, 18th - early 19th century (as is). Single shot flintlock rifle, wooden frame, iron and brass fittings. Flintlock lock partially functional (mechanism to be revised), hammer and battery present. Stock with studded leather covering, decorated with semis of brass cabochons, work probably later or of transformation. Brass grip trim. Long, round barrel with metal fittings. There is a ramrod under the barrel. A rustic-looking weapon, which may suggest that it was made by craftsmen or in the region. Overall length: 138 cm. Very poor general condition, heavy oxidation, significant wear, mechanism incomplete or needs to be revised. Sold as is, for collection or restoration. Category D weapon.
