Description
Tuareg knife - North Africa (Sahara) - 20th century. Traditional Tuareg knife, medium size, representative of Saharan craftsmanship. Steel blade with marked tip, showing an old patina with traces of oxidation and use. Handle with sheathed metal core, with braided decoration and ornate central area, typical of Tuareg production. Traditional hilt and pommel. Leather scabbard, of good length, with geometric decoration in alternating registers, with visible stitching and suspension system. The whole is very coherent and has a homogenous old patina. An ethnographic object characteristic of the nomadic populations of the Sahara, combining utilitarian use and decorative value.
