Description
Belgian made poacher's rifle, calibre 9 mm - 19th century. Antique 9mm single-shot percussion rifle fitted with an independent external hammer and a pedal-operated key-opening system. Round barrel, 67 cm long, with old patina and traces of oxidation from use. Wooden frame with solid stock, partially checkered at the grip, with wear, minor dents and marks of age. Mechanism typical of late 19th century European civilian production. Fired by external hammer, barrel opened by lower lever (pedal key), single trigger under trigger guard. Overall length 104 cm. This rifle is representative of the leisure shooting or small hunting weapons of the second half of the 19th century. Used condition, visible oxidation on metal parts, wood with wear and marks.
