Description
Garde Républicaine non-commissioned officer's uniform, France, 20th century. Set comprising a tunic in dark cloth with red piping, a stand-up collar, trimmed with gold metal buttons, and collar tabs embroidered with characteristic cannetille attributes. Accompanied by his Republican Guard non-commissioned officer's kepi, with red headband, gold braiding, tricolour cockade and gilt metal front badge with coat of arms, with chain chinstrap. Matching embroidered shoulder patches/epaulettes. Homogeneous ensemble, typical of the service or discharge uniforms of the Garde Républicaine in the 20th century. Wear from use, small chips and visible accidents to the fabric (particularly to the sleeves and shoulders). Kepi with traces of use, interior to be examined. Preserved in its original condition.
