Description
Percussion side-by-side barrelled shotgun, 19th century. Percussion shotgun with side-by-side barrels, muzzle loading. Steel side plate with external hammer, capsule percussion system. Round steel barrels with burnished patina, showing traces of use and slight oxidation. Walnut frame, cheek stock richly carved with foliage. Finely chequered pistol grip. Brass fittings including trigger guard and engraved thumb piece. One sling ring. Homogeneous period set in mint condition, with wear, scratches and minor knocks, notably to the stock. Old mechanism, operation to be checked. Barrel length approximately 780 mm, overall length 1180 mm. Category D weapon.
