Estimate €200 - €300
Description
Percussion black powder rifle, 19th century. Black powder rifle with percussion muzzle-loading system, typical of the second half of the 19th century, a period during which the percussion lock became more reliable than the old flintlock systems. The barrel is octagonal over most of its length, probably rifled, and has a loading rod underneath. Long wooden barrel with a beautiful old patina and discreetly engraved metal fittings. Back plate finely decorated with floral motifs, external percussion hammer functioning with primer. Single trigger under trigger guard. Straight stock, without cheekpiece, in the style of civil or shooting weapons. Single-shot weapon, historically intended for shooting or hunting. Barrel length 750 mm, overall length approx. 1160 mm. Good condition, working mechanism (to be checked), oxidation and superficial wear consistent with age. Good overall patina. Category D weapon.
