Jean COLIN (1881–1961). *La toilette*. 1912. Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 134 x 113 cm. Provenance: 19th exhibition of the Royal Society of Fine Arts of Brussels, then a private collection. The painting is featured in the catalogue of this prestigious event, which took place from 6 May to 19 June 1912 at the Palais du Cinquantenaire in Brussels, where works by Rik Wouters, Emile Claus and James Ensor, to name but a few, were on display. The work also appears in the catalogue raisonné compiled by Marc Pairon, *Belgian Impressionism: a tribute to Jean Colin: the hidden masterpieces*; a photograph from the archives of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium takes up the whole of page 60 of the book.
