Description
Georges LEMMEN (1865–1916). Portrait of a Woman. October 1908. Pastel, monogrammed in gouache in the bottom right-hand corner. The work was created on the reverse of an invitation card sent by Mrs Clifford Barney of Washington for the opening of her exhibition ‘Pastel Studies and Portraits’ at Bernheim Jeune & Cie in Paris on Monday 26 October 1908. We would like to thank Mr Olivier Bertrand for confirming the authenticity of the work, which will be included in the Online Catalogue Raisonné. Dimensions: 15 x 12 cm. Condition: Traces of pin holes in the corners; a small tear/loss in the top left-hand corner.
