Description
British 3MK2-type (known as B2) transceiver housed in a leather carrying case with compartments. This 3MK2-type unit is dated 1943 on the voltmeter dial. It features four fuses, its valves still in their original packaging, as well as the headband and headphones. This case was recently found, in its original condition, in an attic near Vernon, and has never been offered at public auction or featured in a collection. This iconic Type 3 MK II suitcase-style transceiver, also known as the ‘B2’, was designed in 1942 by Major John L. Brown. It was intended for use by intelligence officers of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) and resistance fighters in countries occupied by the Germans.
