The little bird, France, circa 1780 Folded fan, the silk leaf painted with vases and flowers. In the centre, a cartel shows a family scene. A small child reaches out to take the caged bird offered to him. The decoration is enhanced with coloured and gold sequins. On the reverse, two cartels painted with birds frame a bouquet of roses and forget-me-nots. Mounted in finely pierced, engraved and silvered ivory decorated with trophies (cuts, accidents).
