The dancers, Europe, circa 1750
Beautiful fan, the skin leaf, mounted in the English style, and painted with two dancers and a couple in the company of a shepherd and a musette player, in the taste of WATTEAU. The reverse is painted with flowers in the Chinese style. Handwritten mention on the left of the merchant Alp. Giroux in Paris.
Fine ivory mount, cut, pierced, carved, engraved and gilded in symmetry with a couple and flowers (small stains, one plume broken).
Height: 29 cm - Leaf height: 14 cm
