THE HOLY BIBLE. Translated into French under the supervision of the École Biblique de Jérusalem. Presented by Daniel Pézeril, Auxiliary Bishop of Paris, Jacques Maury, President of the National Council of the Reformed Church of France, and Rabbi Josy Eisenberg. Paris, Éditions Lidis, 1973–74 – Edition prepared under the direction of Noël Schumann – Text printed by Presses de la Gedit on Soignes bouffant laid paper from the Papeteries de La Hulpe; miniatures printed by Tipografia Torinese - Bound in the workshops of the Reliure du Centre in Limoges. A complete set of 3 volumes in large quarto format, luxurious publisher’s binding in full burgundy leather, adorned with rich embossed and gilt decoration on the covers and spines, inspired by an original from 1502 held at the National Library, spines bearing titles and volume numbers, red silk bookmarks - Limited edition, no. 3356. The illustrations comprise 355 miniatures taken from the *Bible historiale* and the Preiss manuscript, held at the Royal Library of Turin. The binding, which is decorative and highly characteristic of Lidis’s bibliophilic works, reproduces an early Renaissance model. Good overall condition: fresh interior pages; wear to the fore-edges with some loss of leather; slipcase missing. Expert: Geoffroi PICARD DU CHAMBON
