A fine set comprising the four Orders of the French Rite of the High Degrees (1801). In 4 volumes (205x260) in period bindings, comprising 16 handwritten quires totalling over 130 pages.
Vol. 1: Severe Inspector – Vol. 2: Grand Inspector – Vol. 3: Most Wise – Vol. 4: Orator – (Chosen Grade – Grand Inspector – Scottish Rite – Knight of the Orient – Rosicrucian, etc.)
The design of the cross within a radiant triangle is that of the Grand Chapter of the GODF, which was subsequently abolished.
Collated and stamped by Augustin-Charles Dubin de Saint-Léonard (1750–1826), who served for many years as Keeper of the Seals and Stamps of the Grand Orient of France alongside Alexandre-Louis Roëttiers de Montaleau (1748–1808).
