Paris, for the Members of the Académie des Beaux-Arts, 1890, 8vo, 170 pp. – 1 half-sheet, brown Jansenist morocco, spine with 5 raised bands, violet morocco linings with blind-stamped straight and curved fillets, at the bottom are a torch and two intertwined gilded rapiers (5 cm), double marbled endpapers, mauve covers and greyed half-titles preserved, double gilded fillet on the edges, gilt edges, slipcase. (Chambolle-Duru) Borders featuring various figures, garlands and symbols on each page, in different colours: grey, orange, brown, green and mauve. An illustrator’s copy, as attested by a handwritten note opposite the title page. In perfect condition
