Jou, Louis. – A-B-C-D. The twenty-four letters of the alphabet, drawn and engraved by Louis Jou. Les Baux-en-Provence, l’Artiste, 1965. In-4, loose sheets in an illustrated, padded cover – [32 ff., including 2 blank pages]. Complete set of 24 letters (excluding K and W, as originally published) and the title page, adorned with a floral design whose motif is repeated on each of the 25 leaves, within a repeating frame for the letters. A print run of just 37 copies; this is one of the two H-C copies (marked H-C without a number). This work, one of the last of his output, is highly representative of his typographic oeuvre, which revolutionised the art in the 20th century. Extremely rare in this condition (as new).
