Paris: Jean Guignard, 1670. 1 vol. in-12, bound in brown morocco, covers and spine decorated with small metal fittings, mosaic-patterned bands, gilt edges, and a small inner lace trim. - Corners slightly dented; slight lifting of the leather on the upper edge; lower edge slightly split. - 348 pp. – A charming edition in an attractive contemporary binding of one of those short novels which, in the 1660s and 1670s, replaced lengthy epics such as *L’Astrée* or *Le Grand Cyrus* in the public’s favour.
