Paris, Dépôt Général de Vente, [1871–1873]. 4 volumes bound together as 2 in-4 volumes, in red half-maroquin, ribbed spine, title and volume numbers in gold, gilt headband. Colour cover of Volume 4 at the front of Volume 1, black cover of Volume 3 in its proper place; the other two covers are missing. The 4 volumes comprise 240 portraits, some with colour portraits drawn by G. La Fosse. Scattered foxing and a few minor flaws; bindings in fine condition.
