A collection of modern illustrated works. 1/ - Charaire, Georges. - *Les Veines ouvertes*. Paris: The Author, published by Daragnès, 1952. In-4, loose-leaf, with an illustrated cover, a titled slipcase and the publisher’s case - [20 ff.]. Illustrated with 6 sepia-printed en-t-de-couverture drawings by the author. A print run of 448 copies; this one is one of 52 printed on old laid paper with a suite of sepia-printed illustrations (no. 38). A fine first edition signed by the author to Nicolas Bataille (actor and director) concerning a collaboration, whilst he was running the Théâtre du Tertre, which he had founded in 1950 and which was to become one of Paris’s leading experimental theatres, where Eugène Ionesco, his close friend, made his debut. 2/ - Courteline, Georges - Dubout. - *Le Train de 8h47*. Monte Carlo, Aux Éditions du Livre, 1951. Square 8vo, paperback with a padded, colour-illustrated cover, a titled slipcase and the publisher’s case (scuffed) – 196 pp., [1 f.]. Illustrated with 26 plates (excluding title page), including 24 in colour and several line drawings within the text. Printed in a run of 5,000 copies on Crèvecoeur large vellum (no. 4214). 3/ - Duhamel, Georges - Dufy, Raoul. - *Élégies*. Paris, Camille Bloch, 1920. In-4, paperback with a padded cover – cover torn, spine missing, scattered foxing – 83 pp. (all included). Illustrated with woodcuts by R. Dufy (banner, initials and decorative elements).
