Colette – *Vertès.* – *Chéri.* Paris: Éditions de La Roseraie, 1929. In-4, bound in full parma morocco, with the covers and spine decorated with a double interlaced pattern of four gilded border fillets; two framing fillets in mosaic-patterned sea-green morocco lining the gilded fillets; ribbed spine; author’s name, title and date in gilt; gilt edges on endpapers; inner covers in green morocco, decorated with a double gilt border enclosing a double frame of black morocco strips, which in turn enclose a frame composed of small circles inlaid with white morocco, the whole set within a large gilt oval; mauve silk endpapers; half-plum morocco dust jacket with overlapping bands, ribbed spine, titled (spine sun-faded), shaped and edged slipcase; covers and spine preserved (bound by Lavoué) – [2 ff.], 171 pp., [1 f.]. Illustrated with 47 original drypoint engravings by Marcel Vertès (1 on the cover, 13 on the frontispiece and 33 within the text). Printed in a run of 155 copies; this is one of the 100 on Rives vellum, containing the final version of the drypoint engravings (no. 19). This copy is enhanced by 10 very loose plates with annotations and an author’s signed proof (E.A.S.) to Mr Pécazaux: “… who dresses me well!”.
