It contains 69 plates chromolithographed after drawings by the author and Vincent Fossat, numbered from 1 to 64 with 5 plates bis: 3 bis, 4 bis, 8 bis, 9 bis, 16 bis. Jean-Baptiste Barla, a naturalist from Nice, was one of the leading specialists in the flora and mycology of south-east France.
