Paul Gavarni (1804–1866) “Don’t mention the bourgeois to him!”, drawing in Indian ink and wash, title in the lower left-hand corner, signature in the lower right-hand corner, 28/17 cm, in a wooden frame with gilded stucco (19th century); the lithograph published from our drawing is enclosed. One of the two figures from Gavarni’s famous pair, ‘The Bourgeois and the Artist’. Provenance: Estate of Jules Hetzel, Paris; Mrs Lafon Sienkeiwicz, Sèvres.
