Paris, Editions Lidis – coll. “Terra Africae”, 1960. Quarto, loose-leaf, illustrated hardback, in a cream-coloured publisher’s slipcase and cover. 94 pp., frontispiece, 2 full-page plates and 27 etchings in the text. An illustrated edition featuring delightful and delicate etchings by Marianne Clouzot (1908–2007), daughter of the art critic Henri Clouzot, known for her numerous illustrations for children’s books. Colette spent time in Algeria in 1922 and in Morocco in 1926, before returning to both countries in 1929 and 1931. Limited edition of 165 numbered copies on Rives vellum (no. 61). In very good condition.
