[CARICATURE] PAZZI. Hôtel Drouot 1934. in-4 (320 x 250 mm), loose sheets, in an illustrated cardboard folder with fastening ribbons. Water stain on the upper margin of the slipcase. A rare set of 40 lithographs, signed and numbered 16/100. Antoine Protopazzi, known as Pazzi (1897–1947), a Greek caricaturist active in Paris between 1920 and 1934, worked for illustrated newspapers such as *Gringoire*. Here he presents a fine series of sketches of collectors and auctioneers at the Drouot auction house. Attached to a sheet of tissue paper (490 x 312 mm) is a fine portrait in black and pink oil pastels, with the following caption: “Jacques Paradis 32 / St Denis – Montmartre”. Although unsigned, this sketch, with its more caricatured lines, is possibly by Pazzi. In good condition.
