GIDE, André. Notes on the Interpretation of the Role of Phaedra. Place and publisher not given [printed in France], date not given [circa 1943]. In-12, burgundy percaline Bradel binding, smooth spine decorated with the title in gold lettering running lengthways. 181–224 pp. Paper slightly browned. Author’s name written in ink on the title page. Offprint of this column on the role of Phèdre in Racine’s play, followed by ‘Autour d’Iphigénie’, which appeared with this pagination in the issue of Edmond Charlot’s journal *Attendu que* dedicated to the author in 1943. These are two articles or ‘imaginary interviews’ that André Gide gave to *Le Figaro littéraire* between November 1941 and June 1942. In good condition, quite rare.
