CHARDONNE, Jacques. Signed autograph letter addressed to Abel Bonnard. One folio page (270 x 210 mm), on embossed letterhead bearing the Château de Boaça (Pyrénées-Orientales) letterhead, 23 May 1924. Paper slightly browned at the margins, with a small stain. Jacques Chardonne (1884–1968) congratulates Abel Bonnard on his latest work. “You know how to offer a rose after a serious lesson; you are always magnificent in that modest traveller’s attire which suits you so well; in short, you enchant, and I am glad to have waited, to read you, for the leisure of the countryside, which is the beginning of a journey”...
