A rare copy with wide margins on China paper of this posthumous first edition, containing an additional version of the three portraits. ‎Paris, Alphonse Lemerre, 1922. In-12, paperback, cloth-bound cover. XI and 308 pp., three portraits, including one as a frontispiece and one facsimile. Cover very slightly soiled. Posthumous first edition edited by Camille Hémon, who wrote the preface. It opens with Sully Prodhomme’s diary, written between 1862 and 1869, and continues with a selection of letters addressed to Madame Amiel, Louis Barthou’s grandmother, followed by a compilation of reflections. One of 10 numbered copies on China paper, the most limited print run (no. 5), this one featuring an additional version of the portraits with a note on China paper. A rare, fine copy with wide margins.
