In-16, brown percaline with corner pieces, straight spine, longitudinal title label in fawn sheepskin, pale pink covers preserved. 36 pp. Trace foxing. First edition by the writer and engraver Charles-Etienne Gaucher (1741–1804). Introductory note on the author by Hérivaux. A light-hearted travelogue, beginning in Poissy. The author, in good company, passes through Mantes, visits Rouen and Bolbec, ‘the pearl of the Pays de Caux, the glory of Normandy’. Uncommon, in a pleasant later binding.
