First edition, compiled by L.-A. Gautier from the notes of Louis Noisette. This volume brings together the first volume, complete with all 10 plates, and the second volume, without the final volume.
Louis Noisette (1772–1849), a French horticulturist and nurseryman, was one of the leading specialists in pomology in the early 19th century. His experience in the cultivation and selection of fruit trees culminated in this comprehensive treatise devoted to fruit species and varieties, as well as to techniques for cultivation, grafting and tree management.
